Have you ever made a banjo? Then shut up!

Facebook Message Emails
Facebook emails me when I receive a message. I told it to so don’t be mad at it. I can view the email and see the contents of the message but then I still have an unread message in my Facebook Inbox. If I go to Facebook first then I have an unread email. I want message notification without the hassle of having an email attached to it.

Coming Home 8/22-8/24
Beth & I will be coming up to EffCo Friday, August 22nd. We’re hoping to take the day off from work and be in town in the afternoon. Josh Bales & Jennifer Repking’s wedding is that Saturday.
Bank of America
I just applied for a Bank of America accounts online. I won’t have to find a branch and waste my Saturday spewing the same information I just did on their website. They’ll send us our cards in a week and other information even sooner. I was able to populate the accounts by using my current debit card number. I’m extremely happy to cross this off my “To Do” list.

The state of Tennessee will have a Tax Holiday August 1 through August 3.
– Apple- Tennessee Tax Holiday Qualification
We could buy an iMac this weekend and have the $167 in taxes. We’re unsure if Beth’s educational discount can be combined with the tax holiday. Nevertheless, we can’t bring ourselves to buy a new computer when our living room is empty and...

HOLY SHIT HUGE EARTHQUAKE!!!
– My Tumblr Dashboard lists the number of new posts since my last refesh. As I was reading a post, I saw another had been posted. It was this one line, from a blog I have recently started following, stating there had been an earthquake. The news sites had nothing up so I immediately went to the US...

Latest Nashville Goal
Beth & I are slowly exploring the area as we nom on food in new places and shop for our needs/wants. We’ve got a decent grip on some area (West End, Franklin, Green Hills) but we haven’t explored downtown which is very ironic since we live there! This week and weekend I really want to wander around and find out what is so close to us. Walking to supper one night sound like fun. Do...

Shower Rod
The shower rod that came with the apartment is easily the worst rod I have ever seen. It is made of metal which looks nice but its extremely thin sides have taken a handful of dents before we even moved in. The poor thing wasn’t even installed when we moved in. I attempted to stick it up there but it was cut too long to fit. So for the first two days I had to mount it above to ceramic tile...
Weekend
Beth & I met her parents, sister and boyfriend, & brother & girlfriend in Grand Rivers, KY for a weekend at Green Turtle Bay Resort. The kiddies stayed in a two bedroom condo and the parents stayed in a one bedroom. Everyone seemed to like the separate places.
Friday evening was spent shooting the shit, drinking beer, and eating peach pie.
We rented a ski boat on Saturday. The...
Frozen Phone
A Treo was found in the freezer this morning. We’ve ruled out two of the three known Treo owners. The third is in a meeting and we believe it may be his since he washed the dishes this morning.
The CFO just walked in and claimed it. It was a last ditch effor to fix his dying phone.
That was very anti-climatic.
Cable Installed
Mr. Comcast showed up around 7 and didn’t finish till 8:30. Unfortunately the jacks downstairs for the complex were not labeled and he didn’t have all his equipment, so he had to manually try each open jack as I reported to him the TV’s status over the phone.
Beth was home in the late 7 o’clock hour and also had not eaten. So I bailed on the ball game. I didn’t...
Cable Woes Before Cable
I schedule an appointment for Comcast to install our cable last Weekend. Today (Thursday) was the earliest which was fine with me because I knew I would be working late earlier in the week and Beth wouldn’t be able to get off to meet a technician here. So today I got off work at 2:45 to get to the apartment at the beginning of my 3pm-6pm window. The technician actually called me at 12:30...

Great Movie, Poor Experience
We watched The Dark Knight last night on the IMAX screen at Opry Mills. It was a 7 o’clock show and Beth didn’t get home till 6:20. We made it over there at quarter till but neither of us had eaten. We attempted to find the food court but gave up after realizing it was too far away. So we decided to settle on the overpriced crap the theater could offer. Picking up our tickets from...
Electric On
I called the electric company today to get my name associated with the apartment. I’m glad I called this week because it was scheduled to be shut off this Friday. That would have been a shitty time.
Gud Toosdai
I had a really good day at work yesterday. Productivity was beading down my forehead and everyone else was also in the zone. I got a huge attaboy when the head developer asked me to redo some work that another developer had done because he knew that I could get it done correctly. I obviously felt great to be labeled as “better” than another developer in under a month. I had...

Temptation
We have a bowl of chocolate chip oatmeal cookie dough in the refrigerator at home. I didn’t touch it after it was placed. I’m such a good boy.
FYI, cooking and baking on a huge counter is amazing as you would expect.

The Facebook redesign seems to have missed two points:
Whitespace is good, but adding whitespace around a billion tiny things doesn’t really solve the problem of having a billion tiny things on screen.

Turkey
I’ve finally been able to bring my lunch today to work. It’s hard passing up chicken fried chicken but I’m sure I’ll be able to bask in my frugality and the feeling of a happy tummy.
Advertising Funny
Last week I saw an articulated bus with a Holiday World advertisement on the front and a Beech Bend (an amusement park in Bowling Green, KY) advertisement on the back. I’m sure either park would be thrilled to know their an ad of theirs was running next to their competition.
