Cooking Fail
First I added my enchilada spice mixture at the wrong time. I should read all the instructions before starting.
Then I attempted pizza dough but added an extra cup of water. Can you believe the dough never came together? Luckily I have enough yeast and flour for a second attempt.

Snow Walk
Beth & I walked to (and up) Capitol Hill today. The roads aren’t plowed but we did see one plow on our way back. I think we have around 5 inches on the ground. All of my photos are on Flickr.
We just saw a snow plow!

My Twitter & Tumblr feeds from local people and business are all revolving around the fact the roads aren’t plowed. Hall of Fame, Farmer’s Market, Baja Burrito all closed. I need to decide where and when am I going to shoot today. I’m also thinking about sledding.

Yet More Snow Talk
I’m not certain what the original Nashville forecast was earlier this week. It was the consensus of many the meteorologists were playing it cool because their last snow prediction weeks ago was very wrong.
It started snowing this morning and should have accumulated to 4” by 7 pm. We will have another 4” tonight. This is all according to the WSMV at 5pm.

– yazoobrewmaster - I realized this morning our refrigerator is nearly empty as we have put off grocery shopping all week. I was hoping to avoid cleaning out the store with all the crazies.
I’m thinking about stopping by Yazoo to fill my growler so I have something to drink while we’re stranded in our houses from the 4-6” of snow coming.

Jeff Croft's iPad thoughts →
Jeff shares great thoughts. Some crossed my mind but I didn’t mention last night.
Multi-tasking is vastly overrated. But multi-user support is a killer app no one is talking about.
The Amazon Kindle DX (the current model with a 9.7” screen) is $480. FOUR HUNDRED AND EIGHTY BUCKS. In other words, it’s a hopeless pile of shit that looks like joke next to an iPad.

Avoiding the Announcement
I decided this morning that I would avoid watching feeds from the announcement. My typical method of consumption is to have a handful of streams open watching shorting blurbs and photos come across all while debating points with Alex. I think I have been following Apple announcements since I started working at DxR in Carbondale.
The keynote takes 1-1.5 hours and then I usually spent time...
I just loaded Digg subconsciously. Ahh!
I had to ask what the name of the new product was. Now I’m satisfied for a couple hours.

If I attempt to ignore the Apple announement then I will need to block RSS feeds, Tumblr, Facebook, & IM. So much work. I’ll also have to worry about coworkers spoiling it. Uck.
Don’t forget Twitter!!!
Tumblr is my Twitter interface. I wish the Tumblr app pulled in my tweets though.

I am now entering the cone of silence. Please do not send me any messages about the Apple announcement. I like to wait and stream the replay after it’s posted.
I’m thinking about doing the same.

Apple's Tablet: The Ultimate Red Herring
benjaminstein:
My prediction is that Apple will announce a tablet of some sort tomorrow, probably with really innovative touch screen technology. But that’s the small part. The piece you’re missing is that the tablet will be connected to something much larger: a fully integrated digital media and home networking environment.
Ben has great points about an angle for the rumored table. His...

My boss mentioned brown M&M’s and passed on this article to explain when I questioned it. It is a great read about the helpfulness of checklists using hospitals and Van Halen as examples.

Nightmare
Alton Brown was murdered in my dreams by young men my age. Someone made a Dr. King reference about his dream. I knew who the killers were and called someone to explain. The man, who is caring and religous in real life, commented how hard the world is today and that he didn’t feel sorry for him for not being able to defend himself. :-(

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
My family & I spent the gloomy afternoon at the museum. Mom & Dad took my sister and I (maybe Travis?) to the old museum. I visited the new location in 2002 and Beth was there the summer before we moved to Nashville.
We spent two hours in the empty building and I don’t just mean the people. Thee was a lot of areas that were empty and under construction. That was disappointing to see...
