Ugh
I just sent a stern email to a coworker with a grammatical mistake. That is what I get for editing it 5 times and not proofreading afterwards.  and why you have bypassing

I have seen 5/10 of the nominees. I asked my sister-in-law yesterday, “Am I becoming more cultured or are the movies becoming worse?”

jayparkinsonmd: So let me get this straight…a doctor using a computer in a doctor’s office doesn’t significantly influence how their patients live their lives?? It’s absurd that someone would even think that somehow a doctor using a computer encourages people to change their lifestyle and take their health more seriously. Hey Obama…did you just waste the $20B you’ve appropriated toward giving...

How to Give Heart Attacks
Compile list of family members that forgot you had a doctor’s appointment today. Send them a text message with length, height, and general condition with no reference that there was an appointment. Profit.

The IKEA bookshelves we ordered through ModerNash have been out of stock for the second trip. They had white but who wants white?! I was looking forward to picking it up tonight and moving furniture tonight. The only other thing I am looking forward to this weekend is using the HDMI cables I ordered.

My photo blog of Nashville skylines, titled Nashville Skyline, reached its 100th follower this morning at 310 skylines. I love seeing people reblogging the photos and sharing their strong feelings for this place. It is usually teenage girls, students accepted to Belmont, or Taylor Swift worshipers but it still makes me feel good.

“The barcode is not used on the return. It is to enable pre-packaging the disc...”
– Does Netflix handle returns faster if the sleeve bar code is showing in the envelope cutout? Netflix’s Chief Product Officer, Neil Hunt, says “No” but I’ll still do it.

EDIT!
I love browsing through online photo albums friends post but I have no tolerance for albums that haven’t been edited. I don’t want to see the same photo five times in a row. Half-assers. That is what these people are.

Shame & Lies
A coworker brought in an attractive pan of what I thought was brownies. They have chocolate drizzled over the top of the abundance of pecans. After a taste I determined that this was dry, bland, chocolate cake, not brownies. Never pass off chocolate cake as brownies. While we’re on the subject of cake I want to admit that good cake is a rare find. It is usually dry and bland like I just...

Last week I woke up and remembered a vivid dream and laid in bed pondering it. I eventually grabbed my phone and started looking for dream apps. The most popular, free app had terrible reviews so I moved on to buying Way of Dreams - Dream Dictionary. You type your dream in sentences and it searches it for keywords. Then you see a list of terms, some derived from words you added, that you can see...

Our iMac was sold today. I thought I would miss it but the single computer is suiting us. I mentioned buying an iPad but we’re going to wait for the next version that will we’re hoping will be released in a few months. Kevin Rose said to wait so we will.

Breataholic
Coworker: It doesn't help I'm out this week recovering from throat surgery.
Me: I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you are feeling well or will soon.
Coworker: I had UPPP. So, I am uvula and tonsil free and less soft palate
Me: To help with sleeping?
Coworker: Yeah. To open the top of the throat more to help alleviate sleep apnea.
Me: My dad had/has trouble sleeping had had tissue removed from is nasal cavity.
Coworker: Ugh. That probably wasn't fun either. Still.. being the fan of breathing that I am, I wanted the surgery as soon as the dr said that it was one of my options. I like short-term pain / long-term gain things like surgery when possible.
Me: I'm pretty smitten with breathing as well.
Coworker: I blame my father. He is a breataholic and I think I have a genetic predisposition to it as well.
Me: He couldn't lay off could he? Neither could my grandfather… poor bastard.
Coworker: My dad started smoking to try to get off breathing.
Me: haha! Winner!

Improved Comfort Food
My baby and baby requested sloppy joes as I prepared for shopping. I asked, “Are you sure?” Sloppy joes have never been high on my list of eats but she was craving. Who am I to deny them what they want? I decided to try a new recipe. I gave Mark Bittman first choice on my iPhone but he didn’t have a recipe. Second, Google. This Rachael Ray recipe turned out really well. It was...
