Virgin Crasher
I crashed my biked, had a wreck whatever you want to call it.
It is hard watching someone you love fall. Beth was smart enough to look behind us but I went straight for her. She was surprisingly tough.
The spill was definitely Beth’s fault but a car of elderly started the chain of events. They had reached a T intersection and had signaled to make a left turn. We were coming from their right and turning onto the leg of the “T”. We did not have to stop and they thought they didn’t have to stop either because they kept crawling forward as we approached. I regret signaling but they still should have been stopped no matter which direction we were going. I started coming to a stop just as Beth came to a quicker stop. The gawkers stared at us as we got off the road. Another car came behind us and asked if we were OK while the offending car was still crawling and staring. I put my hand up to signal them to stop because I wanted them to understand what they did. I really didn’t want to cuss at them. Honest! The car kept moving forward slowly as I approached so I gave up and went back to Beth who was chilling on a concrete barrier in front of LP Field. It is probably best the car didn’t stop but I would have expected them to roll down their window and show compassion for Beth’s fall even if they thought they were they had not done wrong.
I used to think less of people that wore helmets. Now I know better.
