Photography Thoughts

I received an inquiry generated by the wedding I shot in October for a family photo shoot over Thanksgiving. I had to pass on it since Beth & I are staying in Nashville.

That inquiry and another about upgrading my camera have made me think, again, about where I want to take my photography. I don’t have any work lined up at the moment that I could use to justify a new camera. I will eventually have one but what are my needs as a photographer? I need to think more about what types of photography I enjoy base my decisions from there. For now my D40 is keeping up with my latest interest in off camera lighting.

I don’t even know if I want to pursue a photography business. Most of my hesitation comes from being afraid of failure and aspects of business that are unknown to me. I also haven’t generated work in Nashville which would be much easier.

I need to share the shitload of photos I took in October. There are many I am proud of. I need to keep them in my thoughts and remember how fun it is to create a good image.
