Regular, Average, & Normal
Yesterday and this morning I have heard a few conversations about the topics of higher food and gas prices that included the terms regular/average/normal Americans/people.
What does that mean?
If people are referring to the middle or lower class, then say that. Reporters and guests on the news never group themselves into the vague terms they use. It reminds of George Carlin, a white man, making fun of white men. He techniques for making himself appear ambiguous are interesting to me.
