Wedding Photo Itch
I’ve realized that I value photos of friends and family at my wedding just as much, if not more than photos of myself. I’ve realized that there are plenty of photos of Beth & I, but the millions of moments between others that day aren’t capture as well. My cousin Tracy has asked me to casually shoot her June wedding. I did the same for her sister years ago but I didn’t have the confidence I do now to shove my lens in peoples faces and capture a moment. I look forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and stalking strangers.
With that said, my D40 was briefly before and after the wedding by myself and my groomsman Erich. He was digging my 50mm and captured 6 of the following shots that I couldn’t go one more day without sharing. (He is in the last photo.) These images warm my heart so much. They not only look awesome, but capture the moment in a way that only someone “on the inside” could get. I’ve only played with the lens a little but the results it has produced continues to push me to get the newer 50mm that meters automatically.
I digress again. Enjoy these photos. I have began writing about my experiences from the Thursday I left Carbondale and will share it when it is done. Our photographer’s photos should be in our hands Memorial Day weekend. Hopefully we get our friend Ryan’s photos before then. I will share what I have when I have it ready.
FFYI (Family For Your Information): Once I have all of the photos, I will be happy to give you a CD of your own.
