Beth & I headed up to Effingham Friday evening. We didn’t anticipate making it in time for our cousin’s graduation in Beecher City but we snuck in after it started. Going back to BCHS and seeing so many people I know, if only for a few seconds, is always great. We spent the evening at my aunt and uncle’s house for a post-graduation party.
Beth & I helped her parents get the pool setup by removing the cover, changing the filter’s sand, and pulling parts out of their winter storage spot. Then we moved a mattress from my parent’s house to her parent’s house while scouting places to take photos the next day. During that move we visited Hilary. She baked us kick ass cookies and I took photos of her dog and cows. That night we went to T.G.I. Friday’s with her parents and drove to Quinella’s, a recently purchased/renamed bar in Teutopolis, for a couple drinks. A band of three brothers from Newton named Plastic Soul was playing to a very empty bar but they were great!
We got up early Sunday morning for church, grilled assorted meats for lunch, had our mother’s choose wedding photos they wanted printed. It rained after noon which worried me because I had planned on shooting Josh & Jennifer at 6. I checked the forecast for the next morning and it looked even worse so I knew I had to make Sunday evening work. Luckily the rain stopped between 4 and 5 and we were able to get some great shots from 6-7. The sun even poked out behind the clouds towards the end of the session. We had originally talked about driving to a few places to shoot but we ended up staying in the woods behind Josh’s house using the creek, trees, and wheat field as a backdrop. I’m very please with how the shots turned out and will share them as soon as Josh & Jennifer have a chance to see them.
Beth & I decided to go home Sunday evening so we could enjoy a full day back home before work on Tuesday. We stopped in Altamont for some chicken McNuggetage which turned out to be a good decision because I had left my toiletry bag at home. Dad called just before we crossed 57 so we drove back to Altamont where he met us. I wouldn’t have cared if it would have just been soap/shampoo/etc. but I had my electric razor and currently have not planned on coming back home till the end of June.
Today was a very lazy day as Beth & I scouted Nashville apartments, shopped, and watched High School Musical.
