When the Pontiac Grand Am thinks that the car has been tampered with in a way that may result in theft the fuel system will shut down. When this happens and the car won’t start, turn the key into the ACC position (one click past the off) and leave it there for a period of 15minutes. There should be a security light that flashes red in the dashboard at this time. When the light quites flashing (which happens to be at exactly 15 minutes since the key was turned to ACC) turn the key over to start the Grand Am.
