Great Day, Great Evening
Beth decided to spend the 4 day week with me down here instead of staying in Carbondale two weeks alone. We left Carbondale around 6 after knocking out a few chores and eating.
I was left alone today at work which allowed me to stay on task. I finished my task shortly before 5:30 and was told I did a good job before I left. That always feels good. The work I did was easy but working within the work already defined by another designer makes it challenging because I don’t want to duplicate his styles. And I don’t want to deviate from his coding style.
I went for a run as soon as I got back to the hotel. Beth hung out at the pool while I as away. Then we went out to place I saw again today while I was running. The San Antonio Taco Co. is definitely a college joint but the food was nice and the atmosphere was great. There is a large patio to eat on. In fact I don’t recall anyone sitting inside. There is a wall lined with pads of paper where you complete your order by selecting the number of tacos/fajitas you want on the front and beverages on the back. The person behind the counter that takes your paper and calculates the total. Then the guys call out your name when your order is ready. I had a chicken and pork fajita. Beth grabbed a pair of had tacos. We split some “queso” (more like spicy Velveeta) and chips. I had a Sam Adams Light.
We were almost done with our meal when Beth asked if there was an ice cream place nearby. I asked if she was kidding because there is a Ben & Jerry’s next door. So I had a Chunky Monkey waffle cone and Beth had a Chocolate Fudge Brownie in a waffle cone.
Walking to a restaurant is awesome.
