Babies & Sharing
They’re everywhere! My cousin Julie delivered her second child, Ethel Mae, tonight. Tomorrow my friend Diana will have her first. My cousin Nikki recently bore her second and another cousin has one in the oven. I’m aware of one pregnant high school classmate.
As I think about all of these women and children I’m reminded that everyone’s situation is unique. Sometimes making a baby is easy but I suspect people just make it look easy by hiding tribulations with a big smile and a tight mouth. Luckily I see that attitude changing. Diana’s husband, Jeff, has shared a lot publicly and privately with Beth & I about everything leading up to tomorrow. I have enjoyed reading about their journey and am excited about that they have made it.
Cynthia is sharing her unique story of carrying a child with anencephaly, a fatal neural tube defect that will prevent her daughter from surviving outside of the womb. Reading her describing the choices they have had to make staying positive as she moves towards a tragic day inspires me to also stay positive.
I look forward to share my story of becoming a father.
