Great Movie, Poor Experience

We watched The Dark Knight last night on the IMAX screen at Opry Mills. It was a 7 o’clock show and Beth didn’t get home till 6:20. We made it over there at quarter till but neither of us had eaten. We attempted to find the food court but gave up after realizing it was too far away. So we decided to settle on the overpriced crap the theater could offer. Picking up our tickets from the Fandango kiosk was a breeze and I thought we were doing well until I saw the massive lines of people at the concession stand. We waited around ten minutes before Beth offered to stay in line and I head into the theatre. I walked in at around 6:10 and the place was filled except for the front row. So I parked dead center in the front row and texted Beth (while shielding my phone to not piss off others!) my location. Ten minutes later she found me.

She wasn’t thrilled to wait behind people ordering $70+ of food or sitting in the front row. The movie was phenomenal and I urge everyone to go see it. It’s dark and scary. And please… don’t laugh at every thing The Joker says like the people behind us did. Most of his lines weren’t there to get laughs. I definitely have an interest to watch it again on a smaller screen but it probably won’t happen.
