Weekend
- Beth & I met her parents, sister and boyfriend, & brother & girlfriend in Grand Rivers, KY for a weekend at Green Turtle Bay Resort. The kiddies stayed in a two bedroom condo and the parents stayed in a one bedroom. Everyone seemed to like the separate places.
- Friday evening was spent shooting the shit, drinking beer, and eating peach pie.
- We rented a ski boat on Saturday. The boat rentals website listed a ski boat seating up to 8 people but the paper they gave us at check in listed 6. They let us go with 8, which is still legal, but informed us the boats performance would be limited. They didn’t rent tubes so we had to buy one for $30. At least they let us use a rope.
- Tubing was fun but the boat was definitely straining.
- Holly’s boyfriend works for the St. Louis Post Dispatch as a photographer. So he had a sweet telephoto lens that got some great shots of the tubers. I must quit hanging out with people who have nice cameras and lenses.
- We took a break for lunch. Then 5 us went back out on the lake for the remainder of the afternoon. We were definitely able to drive much faster but the group didn’t care for the rougher ride while in the boat or tubing. I look forward to boating and tubing in the future with a better boat and better tube.
- We drove into town in the early evening for a round of miniature golf at Patti’s. I was surprised that the Patti’s complex had such a good course. It was very hilly, kept up fairly well, and challenging. Anthony & I tied for first place but everyone else was really close behind. Everyone’s game was off due to the heat and lack of breeze in the trees.
- We celebrated Mary Ann’s birthday Saturday night by giving her a photo of her childhood home in a frame that was in was the same house. I cut a slice of cake for myself that was too large.
- We cleaned up our messes and distributed the leftover food on Sunday morning.
- It was nice to have the shortest drive home at 1 hour 45 minutes.
