Best Pizza?
Beth & I went to DaVinci’s for the “best pizza” in Nashville for many years. This was the little place that I was treated to on my first day or work. I didn’t think it was amazing that day and it wasn’t amazing tonight.
Let me first say that I dig the little house that it is set in. There is seating in the “front yard” and on the porch. Our server tonight was also very laid back and easy to talk to. He let us know out of the blue that they were pirating music in the back which was a coincidence he mentioned this because they had just started playing Ryan Adams and Beth & I commented how he were both enjoying the music.
The pizza doesn’t look homemade and has no qualities I couldn’t find in frozen pizza. The bottom has excessive amounts of corn meal and there is no chewiness. It was again similar to a very light, yet thick, soft cracker. The cheese isn’t bad but our pepperoni and mushroom pie was lacking mushrooms. We also ordered breadsticks and they turned out to border pathetic. I usually throw extra dough in the oven when I make pizza at home and they turn out better than these short little sticks. The dipping sauce was also too thick and cold for me.
We would rather spend our money at Mellow Mushroom or bake at home.
