John Rich’s House
Outside my window at work I see a hill that is behind our old office. This is the same hill I took this photo from. I noticed the construction of a building each time I was up there and have been asking around for weeks to determine what was being built. I assumed it was a project of Vanderbilt University because I believe they own the top of the hill.
Last week I finally got my answer.
This is John Rich’s new house that is pissing off his new neighbors. The home will stand 73’ tall and doesn’t violate any zoning laws because the old law only required a home to be under 3 stories. It didn’t specify each story could be over 20’ tall. Now there is a total 45’ limit.
I don’t like the guy, but I love his duo and his house. He said “It’s going to be a Nashville landmark when it’s done without a doubt. It’s going to be one of those places people drive by and take pictures of.” and I agree. It will be a gorgeous house that I anticipate looking at from my desk.
