Fair Weekend

Beth & I went home home last weekend as we usually do at the beginning of August for the Effingham County Fair. We had planned at one time to skip the trip since we returned from South Dakota on Wednesday and would have to leave Nashville on Friday. I’m glad we didn’t pass because the weekend was great.

She got a lawn mower ride. I also spent a little time on the new mower finishing up the yard. As I was mowing, Travis kept suggesting I pop a wheelie. Once I was done I got it up to full speed in reverse and then slammed it gently persuaded it into a forward motion. I did pop a wheelie and it was more violent sudden than I expected. I told Travis he was a bad influence.

We drove to Newton on Saturday night to party with Beth’s maternal family. Chilling under the trees with a cold beer and electric wind (A fan hung from a tree. We joked that it was an electrical tree.) felt great. I ate a lot of taco salad.

Sunday afternoon was spent at the fair scoping out the livestock, sucking down lemon shake-ups, and watching the parade.

I didn’t shave all weekend.

This is my cousin Julie’s daughter, Ethel. Look at those eyes!

We visited Hilary & Shae Monday morning. I shot Shae as she ate played with her lunch.
