We are going to build a steel coaster,” said Koch. “Let me go out on two limbs here. One, the Mammoth is going to be the number one water park ride in the world next year. And two, we are going to build a steel coaster, but I don’t know exactly when. We want to build the right kind of steel coaster, so we have been very actively seeking input from coaster enthusiasts to build the appropriate steel coaster for Holiday World. When we built the Voyage, we put in every kind of element that the enthusiasts love and that our guests love. So we are working very hard on the location and design for a steel coaster to best suit our needs. But it is looming on the horizon.
I’m very excited for Holiday World’s nine million dollar attraction announcement tomorrow. My favorite tease so far is “You’re itching for another hint, aren’t you? Okay, here’s one: we’re going to gain a new record and give up an old one with the ride we’re announcing tomorrow.”

I wanted to stay away from Holiday World this season but the allure of a good waterpark I haven’t visited in years that will have a water coaster, new Timberline trains on The Voyage, and the prospect of seeing friends from afar may be too much to pass up.

I went with the turkey leg for lunch. The green beans were the best I have ever had.
I rode Pilgrims Plunge 8 times I think. Afterwards there wasn’t any part of me that was dry.
There are a handful of coaster enthusiasts who were at Holiday World last weekend describing what they looked like by recounting the roller coaster or amusement park t-shirt he or she wore. I giggled because I lumped everyone wearing a related t-shirt together.

Yes or No Smiles
I can be too critical which makes simple evaluations difficult. For example, I can discuss a restaurants service, food, & atmosphere but there is only one question that matters. Will I come back?
I have begun to simplify my internal evaluations by asking one yes or no question. When Beth is my food guinea pig I ask her if she would eat my concoction again. This weekend I asked myself if I would come back to Holiday World soon and if I was having a good time. I found a simple indicator on my first Raven lap as soon as I dipped into the tunnel. My mouth was wide with a genuine smile.
This morning I was felt cool air and saw sunshine when I stepped outside with my bike. I smiled again. Could it be that a smile is synonymous with happiness? More at 6.
