Bison & Sue
Beth & I ate bison burgers last night. I enjoyed mine with my last bottle of Yazoo Sue. This smokey, 7.5% abv brew kicked hard the first time I tried it. I must be honest; I didn’t finish my first bottle. But the last two bottles have been a treat.
Yazoo’s New Taproom
A little bit about the new taproom…
Top Ten things we love about our new taproom:
- Eighteen taps pouring six different Yazoo beers, so that we can fill a growler, pour a pint, and pour a sampler tray without waiting on each other!
- Heated and air-conditioned bathrooms with plenty of stalls
- Lots of great natural light
- A direct, thru-the-wall draft system so the beer pours without foaming
- Free WiFi (password is “buybeers”)
- A big dock in the back that will double as a stage for bands when we have block parties in the parking lot
- The beautiful view of downtown, especially sunset on the new Pinnacle building
- Sunrise comes right into the brewery when we will be mashing in
- The trains are close enough to be kind of comforting, without blasting our eardrums at the old crossing on 12th Ave N behind Marathon
- The sunny patio that we will soon cover with a hop trellis
The place sounds awesome. Now I just need to find some friends.
Yazoo’s new tap room
I am very excited about this place.
A video I shot and edited from a tour of the Yazoo Brewery at their soon to be old location of the Marathon Motorworks building. Can’t wait to check out their new place at 910 Division in the Gulch in Nashville.
I never toured the brewery at Marathon so I am very happy to view and shared this video. I can’t wait to visit their new location. My empty growler needs some love.
Thursday night I finally went to Yazoo Brewing Company’s taproom. I’m embarrassed I haven’t been there because I enjoy Yazoo beer and live < 25 minutes away by foot! My first visit wasn’t to sit around an enjoy a pint or three. Instead I bought a growler of their Christmasy/winter/holiday ale, Wassail. After enjoying the Christmas Ale I wanted to compare a local brew.
The beer was really great. My beer reviews don’t get anymore detailed than that. Having my own growler at home and drinking from the pint glass I bought that night felt special.
I would love to get refill before we leave again Wednesday morning but they won’t be able to get it till Wednesday night. I’ll probably get it refilled with their Pale Ale at Whole Foods Tuesday night. Here’s to many refills!
A lil’ Nashville in Illinois and my tummy
